Add Live Chat (Drift) To Your Nucleus
Using a third-party tool like Drift or Intercom, you have the ability to add a live chat widget to your Nucleus and allow real-time conversations to take place while visitors are using your Nucleus.
While we at Nucleus use Intercom for our live chat widget, most Nucleus users have opted to use Drift - because they offer a free plan.
By following the walkthrough detailed below, you too can add live chat functionality to your Nucleus!
Step #1 - Copy Your Drift Javacript Code
First, navigate to Drift.com and signup for a free account.
During the Drift signup process, you'll be presented with a screen asking you to install the Drift code onto your website.
Choose the option that reads 'I'll install it myself.'
Now, from the installation options provided, choose the tile with the heading 'Javascript.'
From here, Drift will present you with your unique javascript installation code. Copy this code by clicking on the button that reads 'Copy Code.'
Step #2 - Add Drift Javascript Code To Your Nucleus Settings
Now that you've copied your custom Drift installation code, it's time to paste that code into your Nucleus Settings.
Using the Custom Code Injection box found in your Nucleus Settings, paste the copied Drift code into the box provided.
Once you've added your custom code to the field provided, scroll to the bottom of your 'Nucleus Settings' page, and click the 'Update Settings' button to commit and save the changes to your Nucleus.
Congratulations! You have now added live chat functionality to your Nucleus - for free!
Your live chat widget will look similar to the screenshot below. Woot woot!
